About

virtuBLOG is a personal blog that I (Stephen Dion) have created to organize my thoughts. virtuBLOG wasn’t first on my favorite domains list, but it’s short, was available, and describes the basic function of my blog (to blog about things virtulization related). I find that in my day to day operations role, I come across various random problems, tips, tricks, etc. in the virtulization, server, and datacenter spaces. This blog will provide me a medium to record the things I’ve learned, and hopefully someday help someone who may be experiencing the same problem. I am not starting this blog to jump on the blogging bandwagon (to make money), but I would like to see this blog become a succesful tool for others.

I have spent nearly my entire career to date in corporate/enterprise IT. I am currently a valued senior member of a Datacenter Operations team for a fairly large corporation. My main focus revolves around the world of server virtualization (I’ve been using VMware products since ESX2.5) , but with that comes an increased role in many other emerging enterprise technologies.

I currently hold several different certifications, including the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification from Microsoft, and VCP on VI3 as well as vSphere. I also am an MCSA on Server 2003, and am ITIL v3 certified.

My future aspirations include IT Management (in the datacenter/operations space), and possibly consulting (either on my own, or for a respected organization).
